Membership is open to any FCC-licensed amateur radio operator resident in the
state of Georgia.
Voting membership requires being current with club dues and attending at least 2
club meetings each year.
Club dues are currently $30.00 and are collected during the regularly scheduled
The club may levy a special assessment to further the club’s activities. That
special assessment shall not exceed $30.00.
New members are introduced to the club at the regularly scheduled meetings,
and added to the club roll by a 2/3 vote of members in attendance.
Members are only removed from the club by a 2/3 vote of members in
attendance at the regularly scheduled meeting.
Treasurer – insures the security of all club assets and monies. Has signatory
authority for bank accounts. Performs all bank transactions and makes
payments and collections as required. Delivers a bank statement and reports on
the finances at each club meeting. Maintains a list of club equipment and is
keeper of the official constitution and by-laws.
Technologist – insures the club maintains an awareness of state-of-the-art
processes in amateur radio. Introduces new technology and new developments
to the club. Schedules guest speakers at club events and
meetings. Recommends investment in new technology.
Operations Specialist – responsible for all operations at the radio/tower
site. Insures the site is safe, well maintained, appropriate for the needs of the
club. Maintains UHF/VHF radio repeaters. Recommends improvements or
additions to the radio/tower site and club equipment.
Regulatory Specialist – responsible for club compliance with all regulations
promulgated by local, state, and federal organizations. Cultivates and maintains
a relationship with those agencies.
Public Relations Director – responsible for nurturing the club’s image in the
community and on social media. Serves as liaison to local news outlets,
maintains the club’s social media sites/pages, and is the official spokesperson for
VEC Coordinator – chairs the VEC sub-committee and is liaison to the FCC,
ARRL and W5YI for all matters pertaining to licensing exams.
Outreach Director – proposes and plans for club outreach
opportunities. Liaison to service agencies and organizations such as ARES,
ARRL, GEMA, GHA, and other public service organizations.
The club may appoint standing committees or special committees as deemed
necessary. Standing committees serve indefinitely and special committees serve
for a pre-determined period.
Standing committees include, but are not limited to, Tower Site Committee, VEC
Committee, Hospital Committee, Antenna Committee, and Outreach Committee.
Committees provide regular updates at the monthly club meetings.
Committees are empowered to act on behalf of the club provided such action is
within their scope of work, does not violate the constitution and by-laws, and is
reported at subsequent club meetings.
